PRESS RELEASE 28 May 2008 SADE SP200 WEIGHT SORTER HELPS GEDEON RICHTER.Gedeon Richter is the leading pharmaceutical company in the Central-Eastern European region of Hungary. Having recently purchased a SADE SP200, twin channel, capsule/tablet weight sorter from CI Electronics, Gedeon Richter is making full use of this in the preparation of production, development and clinical trial batches of capsules and tablets.
András Husztik is an electrical engineer within the maintenance group in the formulation research and development department at Gedeon Richter. He has been particularly impressed with the support from CI, saying: "They are very helpful and fast to respond. I am also satisfied with the installation guide and the service guide, which have enabled us to make the best possible use of the sorter." Previously the company used an earlier CI SADE P2 sorter and, in view of their good experience with this instrument, the engineers decided to purchase one of the new SADE SP200 models. Mostly Gedeon Richter uses its SADE SP200 to 100 per cent sort production batches of capsules, typically operating for three days (24 hours) per week. When required, the unit is also used to check development and clinical trial batches - some of which may be tablets rather than capsules - and occasionally it is used to salvage good product from suspect batches. Most products are size 0 to size 4 capsules, weighing approximately 50-500mg. With the wide variety of products processed by the SADE SP200, it is important that dismantling for cleaning is straightforward, which is certainly the case for the SADE SP200. Furthermore, the ease with which data can be saved to a PC and batch reports can be printed locally (via a printer connected to the sorter's USB port) is a great help.
