CI Microbalances

CI glassware systems are designed to fit to the microbalance hang down ports, protecting the suspended sample and counter weight. The flasks shield the sample and counter weight from air currents.

The flask should have the same top fitting as the balance hang down port to which it is to be attached (normally S35).

Materials

Silica sample flasks for temperatures up to 1200°C.
Mullite sample flasks for temperatures up to 1600°C.

Lengths

Available in two lengths: 100mm and 300mm.

Top Fittings

There is a choice of either S35 or B34 joints.

The S35 is a spherical joint, 35mm in diameter: either smooth surfaces joined with an ‘O’ ring seal or ground surfaces without an ‘O’ ring. The join is held together with clips.

The B34 is a tapered joint, 34mm in diameter This is always a ground joint. The join is held together by springs.
