HIGH ACCURACY WEIGHING WITH THE VERSATILE
TABLET/CAPSULE WEIGHT SORTER FROM CI ELECTRONICS
CI Electronics Limited, the leading manufacturer of multipurpose tablet/capsule weight sorters for the pharmaceutical industry, has launched the new SADE SP100 tablet/capsule weight sorter that offers improved accuracy, plus a facility for printing reports directly without having to connect a PC. This versatile floor-standing sorter has a 60-litre bulk hopper and is suitable for use in both manufacturing facilities and research and development environments.
New features in the SADE SP100 include a more accurate (+/-1mg), compact CI MK6 weigh head that gives faster response, together with improved feed and sort mechanisms, an integral removable draught shield and a facility for generating statistical reports for viewing on the integral display or printing either on an A4/Letter printer connected via a USB cable or across a network.
The SADE SP100 sorter handles most standard shapes and sizes of tablets and capsules without the need for change parts. Cleaning validation is simplified as all contact parts are manufactured from electro-polished 316 stainless steel.
For the transfer of data to a PC CI Electronics now offers SP Connect software. This will enable uses to create PDF copies of reports generated by the SADE SP for storage on designated files and export weight and statistical data into Excel files for further analysis.
Typical applications for the sorter include use in manufacturing facilities to reclaim a valuable good product from rejected batches. In research and development departments, the SADE SP100 can be used for 100 per cent weight sorting and statistical analysis for clinical trial or development batches. The new control software enables fixed-quantity sorting and multiple sorts to be performed. In addition the unit can be used for checkweighing samples of up to 1000 tablets or capsules to Pharmacopoeia A and B limits to provide average weight control and statistical analysis.
The SADE SP100 is a floor-standing unit with a 60-litre suitable for 24-hour unattended operation. Balance readability is 0.1mg, reproducibility is +/-1mg and the unit benefits from an automatic zero system.
CI Electronics has designed the SADE SP100 sorter for use in GMP environments and it is supported by comprehensive validation documentation and a full installation and maintenance service.
