PRESS RELEASE 28 March 2006

CI ELECTRONICS TO LAUNCH NEW TABLET AND CAPSULE WEIGHT SORTER AT ACHEMA 2006

CI Electronics Limited will be in Hall 5.1 on stand D37-D38 at ACHEMA in Frankfurt, Germany, from 15 to 19 May 2006. CI Electronics is co-exhibiting at ACHEMA with Raczek Analysentechnik GmbH, its distributor in Germany.

On show for the first time in Europe will be the SADE SP200 high accuracy bulk tablet and capsule weight sorter and SP Connect software for use with the company's complete SADE SP range of sorters. CI Electronics will also be showing the Cisorp Water Sorption Analyser.

Sade SP200 High Accuracy Bulk Tablet and Capsule Weight Sorter

CI Electronics has designed the SADE SP200 sorter for use in GMP environments. All contact parts are manufactured in electro-polished 316 stainless steel so cleaning is quick and easily validated and, with no need for any change parts, the SADE SP200 can rapidly be set up to handle many sizes of tablets or capsules up to two grams.

This versatile floor-standing sorter has twin 60-litre bulk hoppers and is designed for 24-hour unattended operation. Applications for the sorter include use in manufacturing facilities to reclaim valuable good product from rejected batches or for 100 per cent weight sorting and statistical analysis for clinical trial or development batches.

New features in the SADE SP200 include a more accurate, compact CI MK6 weigh head that gives a faster response, together with improved feed and sort mechanisms, and an integral removable draught shield. There is a facility for generating statistical reports for viewing on the display or printing on an A4/Letter printer connected via a USB cable.

The new SP Connect software module enables users to connect any model of SADE SP tablet and capsule weight sorter to a Windows-based PC so that reports can be created as PDF files and/or printed. In addition, the software enables data to be imported into an Excel spreadsheet for further analysis or reporting.

CI Electronics will also be showing the latest version of its fully automatic Cisorp Water Sorption Analyser that has a resolution of 0.1ug, an accuracy of +/-1.0ug and a dynamic weighing range of +/-1000mg. One of the main features of this high-accuracy instrument is that it incorporates two CI Mk2 ultra-sensitive 5g microbalances that can either be utilised to analyse two samples in parallel or, alternatively, a single 10g sample can be suspended across both balances. A highly dynamic climatic control system enables the temperature in the weighing chamber to be varied rapidly from 10 to 80 degrees C and the relative humidity from 2% to 96% RH, depending on the temperature.
